Maybe

Maybe, it is not lame to be selfish. Selfish is a survival trait and those who are selfish have healthy boundaries . Sadly, those that do not know their worth have horrible boundaries.

Lameisthenewcool

This idea that Lameisthenewcool is connected to the trends I see. You see, I use to think it was lame to be so self-absorbed, or to live in such a selfish state at all times. However, now it seems to be the cool thing to do. Things confuse me. Like, when did being so needy become cool? Damn, it just seems that things that were once seen differently have emerged as desirable traits. We like to brag about our twitter followers or how many friends we have on Facebook. Was there not a time that the person who talked about how many friends they had was seen as essentially lame? And that is why I say that Lameisthenewcool. Also, because I think the name is cool. Is that lame?

Enough with the Motivation

When did everyone become a motivational speaker? This is not to knock every one's attempt at what is positive. It is just to say that it seems that Joel Osteen has everyone believing that simplicity is deep and that common sense is inspirational. Now I believe that, at times, we want to be thought of as motivational more than we want to motivate. It seems that, at times, it is simply vanity. However, I could be wrong or even worse, a hater. Hopefully, I am not thought of as a hater in a world where there can be no critique and we must pretend to love everything. My belief is that if you love everything, then in reality, you love nothing. Do you see how I twisted around some words to sound cool. Lameisthenewcool! Holla at me.

Materialism is Lame

The search takes me beyond the material.  Materialism is Lame. It is so lame that people are convinced that they become cool because of what they purchase. Truthfully, there is no 'they' because we all, at some point, held tight to the notion that what was purchased could provide meaning-that it would make us cool. Damn, when did  cool become so much about conforming? Capitalistic conformity has us all spending so much time trying to capture 'cool.' Cool is not easy. Because we think we can purchase cool or that, by rejecting all, we become 'cool by rejection.' Not realizing that even in all that we reject, we still wish to be thought of as cool.

So Lame

I think the majority of shit is lame. There is nothing profound about this statement. Now, what is frustrating is how much energy we have to spend during the day pretending to give a shit about things that are lame. This fakeness makes it difficult for the things that do not truly suck. We are so used to faking interest and pretending to be excited about things that we do not really care about that we cannot express genuine emotion when something is exciting. As I write this, I recognize that this diatribe is lame. Peace!@lameisthenewcool

Looking Busy

The art of looking busy. How many times do you pretend to be busy at work? I do it hella! It is a hard job trying to make sure that I am not caught looking at facebook while I am supposed to be doing something else. How do I justify my paycheck? Easy, I feel that the majority of people are moving papers around pretending that what they are doing is of super importance. Or, maybe everyone has just mastered the art of looking busy.

Weed High

The background of this blog looks like I have smoked a lot of weed. I have not, but sometimes it seems like an existence of zoning out might prove interesting. Why do we spend so much time trying to get people to care? Maybe, people do not give a shit and that is okay? Why are we not okay with ourselves? Why do we want to control others? This impossible feat leaves me  feeling impossibly fatigued at times. Am I the only one?
